Jeffrey A. Barrett is a Distinguished Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at UC Irvine.
His research involves the philosophy of physics, epistemology, and the philosophy of science more generally. Much of his research has concerned the history and conceptual foundations of quantum mechanics, particularly no-collapse formulations of quantum mechanics. More recently, he has been working on using evolutionary game theory to model simple forms of inquiry.
Barrett's publications include The Quantum Mechanics of Minds and Worlds (OUP), The Conceptual Foundations of Quantum Mechanics (OUP), and Self-Assembling Games: Language, Learning, and Inquiry (OUP). He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy at Columbia University.
