Professor of Economics. Game theorist whose analysis of strategic information transmission defined the direction of subsequent research on communication in games. Work on bargaining with asymmetric information, credibility, equilibrium selection, evolution in communication games, and durable goods monopoly has also been influential. Recent work considers other-regarding preferences and information aggregation. Served as Editor of Econometrica.
