Contributions to human cognitive neuroscience, specifically how brain functions support memory and cognition, how those brain functions develop from childhood to adulthood, and how brain dysfunctions relate to major neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. Studies of patients with brain injuries, including the amnesic HM, and neuroimaging have led to fundamental discoveries about the brain organization of human learning and cognition, how these are influenced by emotion and reward, and how they vary through development, personality, and culture. Showed that educational intervention results in brain plasticity in dyslexia, and how medication affects brain function differently in children with ADHD than typical children.
