Research centers on nuclear chemistry and nuclear physics. Early research was in the fields of nuclear fission, radioactivity and nuclear properties and systematics of actinides nuclei including participation in the discovery of elements 99 (einsteinuim) and 100 (fermuim). More recent research focused on the study of single-particle and collective status of actinide nuclei, muon-induced reactions of actinide nuclei and the mechanisms of nuclear reactions induced with very heavy projectiles.
