José Andrés is a renowned chef, Emmy Award-winning television personality, New York Times bestselling author, educator, and internationally recognized humanitarian.

He is the Founder and Chief Feeding Officer of World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in responses to crises. The organization, launched in 2010, developed a model that combines acting quickly and leveraging local resources. WCK partners with organizations on the ground and activates a network of local restaurants, food trucks, and emergency kitchens, to respond to emergencies with comforting meals that support regional economies. His work has earned distinctions including the National Humanities Medal, the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Chef award, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

As a chef, Andrés is credited with popularizing tapas in America with his first restaurant, Jaleo. He is the owner of José Andrés Group, which operates 40 restaurants in the US and beyond, including the 2 Michelin-starred minibar by José Andrés.
