He is an experimental particle physicist with current interest in neutrino physics. Recently, Nobel-prize winning experiments have discovered that neutrinos have mass and mix among each other, showing the Standard Model of particle physics is incomplete for describing the Universe. To follow up on these findings, Kam-Biu initiated the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in China. In 2012, his team discovered the last remaining mixing of neutrinos that has became the basis of the worldwide program in neutrino physics for trying to understand how matter could survive the Big Bang against the annihilation with anti-matter.
