Kate Carter is the Program Officer for the Science, Engineering, and Technology Program area. Before starting at the Academy, Kate worked on science communication and public engagement, with research focusing on barriers to public understanding of science, particularly climate change. Kate holds a Ph.D. in Human Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University and a B.A. in Anthropology from New York University.
