Kevin Gover (Pawnee Tribe of Oklahoma) is Director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), where he has led successful efforts to renew the museum’s permanent exhibits, leverage its public profile to drive educational initiatives in American schools, expand the museums engagement with regional and tribal museums, and make the NMAI a critical site for public discourse and debate.  Prior to his work at the NMAI, Gover was the Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs during the Clinton Administration, where he advanced an important series of policy and administrative reforms in education and law enforcement. Gover is a veteran Indian rights attorney and holds a faculty appointment as a Professor of Law at the Sandra Day OConnor College of Law at Arizona State University.
