Laszlo Somfai

Research focuses on the study of the music of joseph Haydn and Bla Bartk, with special stress on the complex investigation of primary sources in relation to the compositional process, to the genre stratification, and the intended authentic performance. In addition he assisted facsimile editions, critical editions of 18th-century music, and complete recordings by the composer (Bartk's recordings). Recently he works on the thematic catalogue of Bartk's compositions and on the complete edition of his works.
