Holds joint appointments with the Institute of Sacred Music, the Department of Music, the School of Music, and Yale Divinity School. Winner of the Medieval Academy of America's Nicholas Brown Prize for the best first book on a medieval subject and of the American Musicological Society's Otto Kindeldey Award for the most distinguished work in musicology. On a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. she makes educational films of sacred music, and has written, produced and directed Work and Pray: Living the Psalms with the Nuns of Regina Laudis and Joyful Noise: Psalms in Community (Society of Biblical Literature). Her most recent book is Making History: The Virgin of Chartres and the Liturgical Framework of Time (forthcoming from Yale University Press, 2007). She is a former director of the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
