Mark Albert Robert Kleiman was an American professor, author, and blogger who dealt with issues of drug and criminal justice policy. A professor of public policy at New York University, in 2015, Kleiman became the director of the Crime and Justice Program at NYU’s Marron Institute of Urban Management. His books include When Brute Force Fails: How to Have Less Crime and Less Punishment (2009), Against Excess: Drug Policy for Results (1992), and Marijuana: Costs of Abuse, Costs of Control (1989).
