Henry and Lucy Moses Professor, Professor of Economics. Established, both theoretically and empirically, the importance of financial market imperfections to the business cycle and the effects of monetary policy. Played a major role in the development and estimation of the canonical new Keynesian model, including the new Keynesian Phillips curve, new Keynesian IS curve, and forward-looking Taylor rule. Coeditor, American Economic Review, and member of the Academic Advisory Board for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
