Menachem Magidor is a mathematician specializing in Mathematical Logic and Set Theory at the Hebrew University's Einstein Institute of Mathematics.He has made many contributions to the study of large cardinals, cardinal arithmetic, infinitary logic, forcing axioms and saturated ideals. He also contributed to the study of non monotonic logics and their application to Artificial Intelligence . He served as the president of the Association of Symbolic Logic from 1996-1998. From 1997 to 2009 he  served as President of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, guiding the university through a turbulent time while raising its academic stature in the world. He is presently the president of the Division of Logic Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology .
