Research centers on the neurobiology and endocrinology of circadian rhythms in vertebrates; the diverse photoreceptive inputs to the circadian rhythms, the neural and endocrine oscillators that comprise the core, the coupling between these oscillators and physiological events, and the ecological significance of clock-controlled behavior and physiology in the real world (medical drug administration, shift work, etc.) Present research on the differential effects of time change (i.e. jet lag) on different systems -- the master clock vs. the liver -- how feeding schedules affect the ability to shift.
