I am a professor of molecular biology emerita at MIT with a long term interest in cancer research.

My current interest is prevention and early detection of cancer.  Most cancer researchers agree now that at least 50% of cancer deaths in the US could be prevented by proven methods. I am interested in how this can be achieved as rapidly as possible.   I am also interested in seeing advances in molecular and cell biology used to improve early detection methods using novel technologies, since decades of work show that many cancers can be treated effectively and even cured if caught early.
