Parag A. Pathak

Pathak has contributed to the general field of market design. His applied work has led to significant improvements in the application of market design tools to the assignment of students to public school. Pathak has pushed the boundaries of known theory to make it sensitive to cognitive limits of participants and relevant to practical environments. In addition, Pathak has developed creative empirical tools to evaluate the impact of various policy issues facing the educational environment (charter schools, exam schools and voucher systems). He has also built tools that allow us to analyze the implications of counterfactual assignment mechanisms.
