Dr. Rothman and his research team have made numerous important discoveries in the area of molecular immunology. They have described many of the molecules required for the generation of allergic immune responses, including many of those responsible for the production of lgE. They have helped describe the importance of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway in malignant transformation. The group has been involved in demonstrating how cytokine signaling is controlled. In addition to his scientific discoveries, Dr. Rothman has been an academic leader at three major institutions and has been involved in assisting the careers of many physician scientists.
