Research has centered on the philosophy of mathematics and logic. Special attention to the foundations of set theory -- especially the status of questions independent of the established axioms and the proper methods for their resolution -- and to the nature of logical truth.  Current interest also in more general issues of philosophical method and radical skepticism, and in the history of philosophy (early modern, especially Berkeley and Reid; Kant; early analytic, especially Wittgenstein, Moore and Austin).
