He is a writer, teacher, consultant. He has published 32 books -- thirteen deal with history, society and politics; fifteen deal with the management of businesses and non-profit organizations; one is an anthology The Essential Drucker; one is autobiographical Adventures of a Bystander; two are novels. Has also contributed to books on Japanese Art and on the history of technology. Co-founder and President (1965-6) of The Society for the History of Technology. He has taught at Sarah Lawrence College, Bennington College, New York University, and, since 1971, at Claremont Graduate University, which in 1987 named its graduate management school after him. He has been a consultatn to the U.S. government and the governments of Japan and Canada; to business enterprises in the US, South America, Japan and Europe; and to major, especially international, non-profits.
