Peter J. O'Donnell Jr. was the President and Chairman of the O'Donnell Foundation, a private foundation that develops and funds model programs designed to strengthen engineering and science education and research. Mr. O'Donnell created the Institute for Computational Engineering and Science and funded the Applied Computational Engineering and Science Building at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he provided the challenge grant to endow the Scholars in Medical Research at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, a program designed to launch promising new assistant professors on their biomedical research careers.MHM Family Tzedakah Fund. Some of his past nonprofit affiliations include: National Park Foundation, Texas National Research Laboratory SSC Commission Chair, Japan Society USA, Dallas Museum of Art, and Harry Ransom Center for Humanities Studies at the University of Texas, Austin.
