Phyllis S. Bendell
Director of Publications, Managing Editor of Dædalus
A member of the Academy staff since 1991, Phyllis Bendell is the Managing Editor of Dædalus, the Journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Director of Publications. In these roles, she manages and oversees the Academy’s publications department and edits Dædalus, the Bulletin magazine, and research papers, reports, project publications, and other materials produced by the Academy.
Prior to joining the Academy, she was a science instructor in the Cambridge, Massachusetts, public schools. She earned a BA in biology from Brandeis University and an Ed.M. from Harvard University.
