His research and clinical activities concern cardiovascular biology and medicine, particularly human and experimental hypertension. He has elucidated the structure and the function of several of the components of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. He has initiated a major research program on the genetics of human hypertension. His research interests include also angiogenesis in the cardiovasular field.
