Rafe Mazzeo is the Cassius Lamb Kirk Professor in the Department of Mathematics, the Louise and Claude Rosenberg, Jr. University Fellow in Undergraduate Education at Stanford University and the Faculty Director of Stanford PreCollegiate Studies. Mazzeo's research interests include differential geometry, microlocal analysis, and linear and nonlinear partial differential equations, and he has been one of the key developers of geometric microlocal analysis. Mazzeo is on the editorial board of several professional journals, and is on the Scientific Advisory Board of the American Institute of Mathematics, the Pacific Institute of Mathematical Sciences and the Instituto Matematics at the University of Granada. He is on the Board of Directors of Math Sciences Publishing. Outside of Stanford, Mazzeo is the Director of the Park City Mathematics Institute, an annual summer school long associated with the Institute for Advanced Study, which includes several parallel programs for researchers and students at various levels. His B.S. and Ph.D. are from MIT.
