Early research dealt with biosynthesis of cholesterol and subsequently with regeneration of rat liver following massive tissue loss or injury, quantifying growth responses in aging, extent of liver loss, blood borne agents, growth factors and hormones, both in vivo as well as in cultures of freshly isolated hepatocytes. Current focus is on growth associated genes, and their effects when transferred with highly efficiency into the cultures by means of a baculovirus vector.
