Raphael Bousso
Raphael Bousso is Professor of Physics and the Chancellor's Chair in Physics at the University of California, Berkeley. Bousso's research centers on the pursuit of a unified theory of the universe encompassing both quantum mechanics and general relativity, or quantum gravity.
Bousso’s work in theoretical physics and cosmology has helped expand how scientists think about the universe at its most fundamental level. His research examines ideas that sit at the edge of human understanding, from quantum gravity to the structure of space-time. While the concepts can be abstract, the stakes are sweeping: his work contributes to fields that seek to explain not just what exists in the universe but how it all fits together.
He received a Ph.D. from Cambridge University.
