Rita Eleanor Hauser
Rita Hauser is President of The Hauser Foundation. An international lawyer, she was a senior partner for more than twenty years at the New York City law firm Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. She served on the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board for President George W. Bush from 2001 thru 2004 and was appointed to the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board from 2009 thru 2012 by President Barack Obama. She chairs the International Peace Institute, and is on the Advisory Board of the International Crisis Group. She chaired the American Ditchley Foundation, supporting Great Britain’s leading conference center, from 2006 to 2010, and was elected a Governor of the British Ditchley Foundation in 2010. She serves as a director of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City and is a member of the Executive Committee. She was a director of the New York Philharmonic Society for more than twenty years. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of New York University School of Law, and was awarded its Vanderbilt Medal in 2004, the Albert Gallatin Medal in 2006, and the Judge Edward Weinfeld Award in 2008. She received the Harvard Medal for distinguished service to Harvard University in 1999, and the Award of the Women’s Leadership Summit of Harvard Law School in 2008. She was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2012 and serves as a member of the Academy’s Trust.
