Robert Louis Fleischer

Current research is on nuclear tracks in solids and on intermetallic compounds. He has alternated between dislocation theory and plasticity of metals and intermetallic compounds on one hand and the properties and uses of etched nuclear tracks in solids - uses that range over many fields. At present he is editing volumes on intermetellics and studying radiation dosimetry, including measuring personal radon doses from alpha-particle tracks in plastic eyeglass lenses and neutron doses at Hiroshima inferred from induced fission tracks in glass.
