Presently Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, he served previously as a Commissioner and Bureau Director at the agency, and also as Dean and Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center and Professor of Law at NYU School of Law. Scholarship consists of many books and articles on antitrust and consumer protection. Current focus is on application of competition rules to high-tech industries, globalization of competition, and enforcement policies with respect to the wave of domestic and international mergers.
