                    Editor, The New Yorker (1956-present)/Contributor (1962-present). The dean of American writers about baseball, Angell has also written fiction, nonfiction, autobiography and criticism. Many of his essays have been collected in a series of critically acclaimed books including: The Summer Game (1972), Five Seasons (1977), Late Innings (1982), Season Ticket(1988), Once More Around the Park (1991), Game Time (2003), and Let Me Finish (2006). Recipient of the George Polk Award for Commentary and the Authors Guild Award for Distinguished Service to American Letters.
