Work, including The Legend of Freud, Return to Freud, Institution and Interpretation, and Mass Mediauras, opened up new avenues between disciplines such as literary studies, philosophy, psychoanalysis, textual theory, and institutional analysis. Recent work focuses on the relation of art and aesthetics to media. Books include: Theatricality as Medium, Targets of Opportunity: On the Militarization of Thinking, and Benjamin's -abilities. Recently published a collection of essays in French, Inquiétantes singularités, and currently working on a study of the notion of "singularity" in relation to politics and poetics (Tentative title: Toward a Politics and Poetics of Singularity).
