Sarah DeBacher

Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities

Sarah DeBacher is vice president of the Division of Education at the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. She earned her B.A. in English from the College of Wooster and an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of New Orleans (UNO), where she is currently working toward a Ph.D. in education administration. The former chair of first-year writing at UNO and director of the Greater New Orleans Writing Project, she has taught English for 15 years to students in grades five through graduate school and has led hundreds of hours of teacher professional development workshops. She directs the PRIME TIME suite of family reading and discussion programs, which are offered in eight states and Louisiana.
