Contributions to the study of supernovae, the evolution of massive stars, high energy astrophysics, and nuclear astrophysics. Models for astronomical explosions of many varieties - Type I and Type II supernovae, x-ray bursts, and gamma-ray bursts. Provided standard nucleosynthetic yields for studies of Galactic evolution, gamma-ray line astronomy, and meteorites. Originated the collapsar model for gamma-ray bursts.
