Suzanne Staggs studies the universe through the medium of the cosmic microwave background (CMB).  Her earliest work centered on precise measurements of the absolute CMB temperature.  She has pioneered techniques in CMB polarimetry as the leader of the PIQUE and CAPMAP experiments, as the last spokesperson for  QUIET, and as a leader of the  Atacama B-mode Search (ABS).  Staggs is the PI of  the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) project, which makes large-area high-sensitivity and high-resolution maps of the CMB to probe cosmic history.  She is a founder of the Simons Observatory, designed to probe all aspects of the CMB.
