Designed polymeric and liquid crystalline materials with emphasis on the translation of molecular structure and properties to materials with technologically useful properties. Demonstrated and applied self-amplifying sensory polymers using energy and charge transport. Designed liquid crystals with improved order, extended dipoles, and amplified chirality.
