Wesley Kent Fuchs
Kent Fuchs was President of the University of Florida from January 2015 to February 2023. His previous appointments include Provost and Joseph Silbert Dean of Engineering at Cornell University, Head of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Michael J. and Catherine R. Birck Distinguished Professor at Purdue University, and professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Fellow of the IEEE, and Fellow of the ACM. He is also a member of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honorary Society) and Eta Kappa Nu (Electrical Engineering Honorary Society).
Fuchs received a B.S.E. degree from Duke University, M.Div. degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois.
