Wells '29 Professor of Economics. Work on elections as information aggregation devices has created new literatures in economics and political science, and generated insights into the effect of strategic considerations on informative voting (with Feddersen) as well as new perspectives on voter participation and optimal rules for juries. Decision theory work (with Gul) opened the door to new studies of temptation, self control, and other important behavioral phenomenon. A co-editor of Econometrica.
