On Friday, October 6, 2017, the American Academy kicked off its Induction weekend events with a Celebration of the Arts and Humanities. Newly elected Academy members Greil Marcus, Brenda Hillman, Faith Ringgold, Arthur Sze, Mark Slobin, Elizabeth Broun, and Lynn Nottage all spoke about their work and experience in the arts.
