Accelerating Climate Action Across America

The Houston Program Committee and Rice University invited Academy members and guests to a conversation about how we can achieve ambitious and durable action on climate change by uniting efforts across sectors, ideological divides, and the many other forms of diversity that characterize our nation.  
 
The panel discussion explored how to sustain progress and equitably build infrastructure, reduce emissions, and prepare for climate impacts. Reflecting on the American Academy’s recent report Forging Climate Solutions: How to Accelerate Action Across America, panelists highlighted the importance of diverse sectors-such as corporations, communities, government and environmental groups-to build momentum for short- and long-term change.
