On November 30, 2017, the Washington, D.C., Local Program Committee—chaired by Steven Knapp (President Emeritus, George Washington University)—hosted a dinner and discussion about the Commission on the Future of Undergraduate Education's final report, The Future of Undergraduate Education, The Future of America. Commissioners Rebecca M. Blank (Chancellor, University of Wisconsin-Madison) and Nicholas Lemann (Joseph Pulitzer II and Edith Pulitzer Moore Professor of Journalism; Dean Emeritus, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism) spoke about the report and discussed the next steps in implementing the recommendations and addressing the pressing challenges facing students, families, schools, and businesses.
