Making Sweet Tea: A Discussion with E. Patrick Johnson

The Chicago Program Committee invited members to view and discuss Making Sweet Tea, an award-winning documentary about the lives and loves of southern gay black men. The film depicts research by Academy member E. Patrick Johnson, engaging questions about how we represent portions of other people’s life stories and how those stories impact researchers, audiences, and, more importantly, the people whose stories are represented.
