Charlie Brown is Executive Director of the Trust for Civic Life, working with the organization’s funding partners to champion locally led efforts that bring people together, strengthen civic participation, and build trust in communities across the country. In 2026, he was recognized on the TIME100 Philanthropy list as one of the most influential leaders shaping the future of giving. Previously, he led democracy grantmaking as Director of Democracy and Climate at Alta Futures, founded Context Partners, a global design strategy firm that served major philanthropists and Fortune 500 companies, and created an online community of social innovators across one hundred countries as Executive Director of the Changemakers initiative at Ashoka.
