Jonathan S. Holloway

Educational and Academic Leadership
Holloway is a historian whose scholarship has a strong interdisciplinary appeal, intersecting with literature, cultural studies, and politics. At the core of his work is the question "whose histories matter?" By approaching intellectual history through the study of the social world he tells the story of the past through the lives of those "without history." Holloway is committed to public history as evinced in his work on documentaries and with museums. As an administrator, Holloway has addressed questions of race and belonging on college campuses and serves as a key figure in national debates on the state of higher education.
