Kirk Carapezza

Kirk Carapezza is the managing editor and correspondent for higher education at GBH News in Boston. In his reporting, Kirk takes the time to capture the distinct voices of students and faculty, administrators, and thought leaders. Kirk also hosts College Uncovered, GBH’s consumerfacing podcast that pulls back the ivy on American higher education, exposing its problems, pitfalls, and risks–and helping listeners navigate them. The show was named a “Best of 2024” winner by the Education Writers Association, and its fourth season, The Demographic Cliff, won first place for information podcasts from the National Headliner Awards. Kirk has reported for Wisconsin Public Radio in Madison, Wisconsin, and Vermont Public Radio in Montpelier, Vermont. He has also worked as a writer and producer at WBUR in Boston. Kirk holds a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
