Higher Education Forum 2026
"Is Higher Education Built to Last?"
The Academy's 2026 Higher Education Forum was centered around the question "Is Higher Education Built to Last?" Panel discussion topics included affordability, future proofing, what happens when colleges close, and the future of the liberal arts.
Attendees were higher education leaders, researchers, journalists, and philanthropists, including Academy members and leaders from Academy Affiliates. Affiliates are colleges, universities, and other institutions that support Academy efforts to advance the common good.
The Academy’s work was represented throughout the Forum, including a focus on the Commission on Opportunities After High School, which is dedicated to ensuring all students can thrive and find rewarding jobs in an ever-changing global economy.
