Forum on the Future of Higher Education 2023
The Academy's second annual convening of The Higher Education Forum was held in Aspen, Colorado in June 2023. The meeting included more than one hundred higher education experts and leaders, which included many of the Academy’s Affiliate institutions as well as several Academy members. Discussions centered around an array of topics including: the future of work, artificial intelligence, student mental health, international instability with emphasis on Ukraine and Hungary, and art in a democratic society.
The Academy’s work was referenced and represented throughout the Forum, including the findings of the Commission on the Arts and a discussion of recommendations for strengthening 21st century democracy in Our Common Purpose.
Speakers and attendees ensured the days were filled with robust conversations, provocative ideas, and shared insights.
