Mark Trahant is editor of Indian Country Today. The daily, digital national publication serves American Indians and Alaska Natives based in Washington, D.C.
Trahant is also the producer and host of Wassaja, a news magazine on FNX, First Nations Experience.
He is a 1989 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting finalist as co author of a series on federal-Indian policy; a PBS Frontline reporter whose The Silence exposed sexual abuse by clergy in Alaska; a Seattle Times columnist who won best columnist awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. He is the author of The Last Great Battle of the Indian Wars about Sen. Henry Jackson and Forrest Gerard. He has pioneered independent journalism for the digital age focusing on public policy including coverage of every Native American who runs for Congress or state offices.
